Meet the great review of the resort! We carried out an independent audit and studied the reviews of vacationers. We are honestly telling the whole truth about vacation by the sea in Yeisk in the summer of 2021. Find out how not to make a mistake with housing, which beach to choose, where to find therapeutic mud, who is the main superstar of the city and how to find a hermit who has lived 20 years on a desert island. And of course, we will tell you about the prices, pros and cons of rest in Yeisk.
Our impressions
"The Kuban begins with Yeisk!" - this is the proud slogan of herchan. We were convinced of the validity of these words already on the first walk around the city. That warm Saturday morning at the local "Arbat" song and dance we were greeted by a folk ensemble of three Kuban beauties performing Cossack hits so beloved here for guests and residents of the resort. It immediately became clear: we are in the Kuban.
Due to the Kuban spontaneity and other local features, even such a large city as Yeisk (80 thousand inhabitants, after all) is still perceived as a village. Therefore, some resort will seem like a "collective farm", while others will find it cute and cozy. In order not to be disappointed in Yeisk and not to spoil your vacation, decide on the shore to which camp you belong to, and then decide whether you should go here.
I liked the city itself abundance of greenery in parks, alleys and just on the streets. Yeysk is considered one of the greenest cities in the Kuban, although, of course, it cannot be compared with Sochi. We also liked the industrial landscapes of the port, long beaches, panoramic views of them from the high bank, the Yeisk spit, first-class sunsets and the opportunity to watch the successful and not very maneuvers of kitesurfers. In general, Yeisk is not a faceless and boring resort in our south, but quite a lively and interesting city, which has something other than a beach, shooting galleries and stalls with chebureks. During your vacation, your mind will not move out of boredom here.
True, there is one thing that greatly spoiled our experience of the resort - this noise pollution in parks, alleys and on the pedestrian street of the city. Terrible music and audio ads are screaming from every pillar so scary that you want to run as far as possible. It is a pity that the city administration and other responsible persons did not have enough intelligence to put the sounds of nature in the parks, or at least just pleasant unobtrusive melodies instead of disgusting golimy pop music. How much better!
And indeed the city of Yeisk terribly cluttered with ads... It hits right in the brain, in the ears, in the eyes - it attacks visual and audio ads from all sides. But this is a problem for almost all Krasnodar resorts.
A bit of history
Today Yeysk is the fifth most populous city in the Krasnodar Territory. It is located in the very north of the region, on the shores of the Taganrog Bay of the Azov Sea.
Even during the reign of Catherine II, the Khansky town was founded on this place, as a spare residence of the Crimean Khan who fell under Russian dependence. Then, 70 years later, already under Nicholas I, the port city of Yeisk was founded. Already in 1912, it began to develop as a balneological resort based on therapeutic mud and hydrogen sulfide springs. But the sanatorium was opened here only by the Bolsheviks in 1921. During the war, the city was badly damaged, but was rebuilt, and then began to rapidly develop as a popular Soviet resort.
Ivan Poddubny - Yeisk superstar
The main pride of Yeisk is the famous strongman Ivan Poddubny (1871-1949). At the beginning of the 20th century, he was a star more abruptly than Schwarzenegger: a world famous wrestler in the Greco-Roman style, a circus artist-athlete, a six-time world champion. He amazed the whole world not only with his strength and skill, but also with his athletic longevity - he continued to win resounding victories even at the age of fifty! He spent the last years of his life in Yeisk, where he lived in poverty and was forced to sell even his awards.
And now, seventy years after his death, the famous strongman continues to work for the benefit of the brand of his city as its symbol. There is a park named after Poddubny, his house-museum, a monument and a bust.
Beaches and sea
Most people go to Yeisk for a beach holiday. There are many beaches here, but they are not perfect. Most of them are covered with sand with an admixture of small shell rock, but there are sections of the coast with small pebbles.
The main beaches of the resort are located on the Yeisk Spit, a kind of appendix that cuts into the sea. On the left hand (west) is Central beach, the most popular among vacationers in Yeisk. On the right hand (in the east) are located Child and Youth beaches... On the latter, water sports lovers catch a wave and a tailwind. Due to this category of tourists, atypical for our resorts, a special, even a little European atmosphere reigns there, which makes the beach and the resort more pleasant and worthy of attention. Although this spirit is felt even more in the neighboring resort - Dolzhanskaya.
Already outside the spit, to the south of the seaport and closer to the central part of the city, another famous beach stretches for many kilometers - Kamenka... According to the reviews of tourists vacationing in Yeisk, it is inferior to the other two beaches, but it is still very popular. How else! Indeed, on the beaches of the Yeisk Spit at the height of the season, there are not enough places for all vacationers. What is there to be surprised if almost a million people come to Yeisk every year on vacation. The northern part of the Kamenka beach, which is closer to the port and the center, is well-maintained and lively. There, the beach itself is wider, and the sand is nicer, and in general all life and movement is concentrated. The further south you go, the less frequent are the bodies of vacationers absorbing the warm rays of the sun - there the beach is already becoming wild, with an admixture of pebbles and stones.
All beaches have the right infrastructure: changing cabins, toilets, sun lounger rental, cafes, snack bars, attractions, catamarans rental and other joys.
Well, about Azov seaI'm sure you already know everything perfectly well: the depth is about the same as in a bath, and the water is usually cloudy and greenish-brown. It is more convenient to walk on the sea than to swim: on foot from the coast, you can walk a couple of hundred meters. Adults are uncomfortable, but children like it. This natural feature makes Yeisk and all other Azov resorts primarily family-friendly.
